Fuensanta Sobejano is a digital artist from Madrid, Spain, with a diverse artistic background that includes enriching experiences in Berlin and New York, where she refined her skills. As an artist, she has actively participated in the academic realm of art and design, previously serving as Program Manager and Head of the Master School at IED Madrid.

In her artistic practice, Fuensanta explores human perception and beauty, employing a captivating interplay of color, combinatorial theory, and interactivity. Central to her practice is the significant role the viewer plays in transforming her work, resulting in distinctive and engaging experiences. In her recent works, Fuensanta approaches these themes from various perspectives, seamlessly integrating digital media with analog materials to explore the ever-shifting nature of reality.

Primary colors, strategically combined, give rise to the chromatic variations explored in her art — a product of a combinatorial game played through repetitive structures. Fuensanta utilizes color, light, and lenses to elicit diverse reactions from the audience. Viewers are encouraged to playfully engage with the artworks, altering their perception by shifting positions. Each piece becomes a dynamic entity, transformed by the observer's unpredictable movement, creating the illusion of dynamic colors. The observer, moving through space, forms the vital link connecting them with the artwork, unlocking a multitude of meanings and experiences.

Fuensanta's work spans various scales, each influencing how observers perceive the artwork. From digital screen installations transmitting generative sequences to lenticular elements that transform with the observer's movement, and interventions on buildings where daily activities generate continuous urban-scale changes.

She holds an MFA in Interactive Art from Pratt Institute in New York and is currently pursuing an MA in Creative Computing at Elisava Design School, Barcelona. Her artwork has been exhibited in galleries and spaces such as the Watermill Center and Pablo’s Birthday Gallery in New York, 1d3 by Nomos in Palm Springs, the Berlin Arena, and Arniches 26 Gallery in Madrid, among others.

Fuensanta is represented by Arniches 26 Gallery in Madrid.
